CLIMB LION”S HEAD
A rite of passage for every (abled!) visitor to the Mother City. Lion’s Head lies adjacent to Table Mountain and its name references the silhouette of a lion basking in the sun.
The walk to the summit takes about 90 minutes, starting with a gentle stroll and gradually becoming more challenging. One or two sets of ladders and chains need to be bested to get to the top. A slightly longer, child-friendly route is also available.
But it’s worth it. From full moon hikes to drinking in the sunset, Lion’s head is the prime spot for breathtaking views of the city, Robben Island and the Atlantic.
They say the best things in life are free, and Lion’s Head is no different.
